The Dutch International Tango Week proudly announces its first headliner: Otros Aires, the leading electro-tango band from Buenos Aires. This year, the band brings its unique blend of traditional Argentine tango and modern electronic music to Amersfoort, during the Netherlands’ newest international music festival for Argentine tango.
Otros Aires is considered a global pioneer of electro-tango. Since their founding, they have conquered stages from Buenos Aires to Tokyo and from Berlin to New York. With their distinctive sound—which interweaves archive recordings of classical tango singers with a live band, beats, and visuals—they build a bridge between the heritage of tango and the music of today.
With this confirmation, the Dutch International Tango Week underscores its ambition to showcase both the tradition and the future of Argentine tango. The festival, which has been held in Amersfoort since 2019, is known for its focus on musical quality, its own productions, and the development of talent by Dutch professional musicians.
With Otros Aires, the festival brings a truly global name to Amersfoort. Their music perfectly captures what the festival stands for: respect for the roots of tango and the courage to innovate.
