Sultry sounds and fiery grill: Dutch International Tango Week and Restaurant Hete Kolen bring Buenos Aires to Lieve Vrouweplein
On Saturday 7 June, the Lieve Vrouweplein in Amersfoort will be transformed into a lively square full of Argentinean atmosphere. As part of the Dutch International Tangoweek, the festival and Restaurant Hete Kolen will join forces for a festive Argentinean BBQ, which will enhance the sultry sounds of tango music with the smell of grilled meat, fire and cosiness.
From the afternoon onwards, visitors can enjoy authentic Argentinean dishes from the grill, freshly prepared by the chefs of Hete Kolen. At the same time, live tango music ensures a complete experience. Everything revolves around the feeling of Buenos Aires: passion, togetherness and the magic of the tango.
The collaboration between the festival and the restaurant is intended to stimulate the audience’s senses on all fronts. “Tango is not just music or dance – it’s a way of life,” the organization says. “And that includes food. Together we create an experience that feels like you’re standing in a square in San Telmo.”
The BBQ on Lieve Vrouweplein is freely accessible to everyone. Food orders can be placed on the spot. Live music and dancing start around 15:00 and continue into the evening.
